Coup de foudre in Cannes – when two lives met on the catwalk

When Victoria and Geoffroy met at Cannes Fashion Week – less than a month ago – it was coup de foudre: a love so intense that everything else faded away. The number 21, which had followed them through pain and hope, took on a new meaning. This is the story of two people who carried the weight of the past – and chose to write the future together.

They hold hands when they speak. Finish each other’s sentences. Smile as if they’re still dancing – just the two of them. When Victoria and Geoffroy walk into a room, the energy shifts. They’re in love. Not in a polished, picture-perfect way – but in the raw, honest kind. With scars. With light. With life.

“I’m fire. She’s the moon. Together, we’re balance,” says Geoffroy.
“He’s my 33. And I’m his 21,” says Victoria, resting her head on his shoulder.

A kiss under the moon in Cannes

She came from the USA. He came from France. They had never met before the show at the legendary Carlton Hotel during Cannes Fashion Week – just weeks ago. She was the designer. He was the model.

“We opened the show together. The audience was cheering. Afterward, we ran to the beach – in dress and suit – and jumped into the ocean,” Geoffroy recalls.
“When he kissed me in the water, I knew: this wasn’t chance. It was destiny,” Victoria adds.

They describe it as coup de foudre – love at first sight. But it wasn’t just a glance. It was recognition. Two souls, shaped by storms, finally meeting in peace.

“Everything in my life happens with the number 21”

Geoffroy, now 41, says his life comes in three acts. The first 21 years were marked by trauma and silence – but also resilience. He became a tennis champion, earned a master’s degree in leadership – and survived.

“I left prison on June 21 – my 21st birthday. That’s when my second life began.”

He built a career in wellness, helping others manage stress and reconnect with their bodies. But in November 2024 – exactly 21 years after that turning point – he chose a new beginning.

“That’s when I stepped into modeling and acting. And then I met Victoria. That’s when the real story began.”

“All I had was a sewing machine and a dog”

Victoria, born and raised in the United States, moved to Europe as a classical musician. She married in Austria – and became gravely ill. For years, she fought Lyme disease and endured domestic abuse.

“I asked God for a new chance. The next day, my doctor said, ‘This is a miracle.’ I packed up my rescue dog – and walked away to rebuild my life.”

She moved into a tiny, empty apartment in Vienna. No furniture. Just hope – and one sewing machine.

“Agencies told me I was too short, too old. I was 24. So I became my own agent. Built my own path. And launched my own fashion brand.”

She founded Victoria Emerson – a sustainable fashion label inspired by 1950s elegance and the timeless grace of Audrey Hepburn. Each dress is handmade with care, ethics and story.

“They called us the iconic couple”

Their chemistry was instant. During the Cannes show, they danced on stage – unrehearsed. The audience erupted.

“People said they could feel our energy before we even touched,” says Victoria.

Since then, the couple has traveled together to Austria, Paris and London. Soon they will visit Bergen, Berlin and Tanzania. Together, they’re not just building a relationship – they’re building a purpose.

Love as parents – and partners

Geoffroy has two children, aged 17 and 14. Victoria has a five-year-old son named Wolfie.

“My children are everything to me. Now that they’re older and stable, I can follow my heart – but I’ll always be their father,” Geoffroy says.

“Wolfie saved my life. I want him to grow up knowing that healing is real, that love is powerful, and that strength doesn’t mean being unbreakable – it means getting back up,” Victoria says.

They carry their children with them, always. They are not just partners – but parents with purpose.

Next stop: Bergen – and beyond

In July, they will arrive in Bergen for photoshoots, creative collaborations and connection. Victoria plans to open a Paris boutique. Geoffroy is considering closing his wellness company to pursue his new life in fashion, film and peace work.

“We can’t be apart. It feels like we breathe in sync,” Victoria says.

They also collaborate with the John Fox Foundation and will lead a UN-backed peace project in Tanzania this October.

“We live for love, creation and service,” Geoffroy says.
“Our art is our bridge – between cultures, between hearts, between generations,” adds Victoria.

A story that dares to begin

This isn’t just a love story. It’s a story of rising – from illness, from trauma, from silence – and daring to believe in light again.

“It doesn’t matter where you’ve been. What matters is where you dare to go,” Geoffroy says.
“I was sick, abused and alone. Now I’m a mother, a designer, and free. Everything is possible,” says Victoria.

Coup de foudre. A kiss under the moon. A dance on the catwalk. And a journey that is only just beginning.
